Hello again,
So the weekend was packed! Friday afternoon we had lacrosse practice. They call it "training" here which got me a littleworried. I was not going to be excited if we actually ran sprints or hills or something. But no worries, it was the most funbunch of girls and they were excited for us to play. It was a relaxed practice yet intense, and I'm not going to lie, I am sore all over! That night I went out with a lot of friends and had a great time. Saturday we planned on going to the Gower. We is Avi, Hollis and I. We got to the bus station early so we had some time to kill, so we went to this indoor market which is at the end of the Quadrant (mall). The market was overwhelming. There was so much to look at and to eat and smell. There was fresh fish, fresh fruits and veggies, and pastries. Their big thing here is pasties. Cheese and onion and beef or any combination really. I had a sausage roll, which is pastry dough but a little crustier and a sausage/bread mixture inside. It was very delicious. Next time, I will be getting a pastie!
We finally got to the Gower and it was everything and more than what we had heard. It was not sunny, but not raining which is always a plus in Wales. It was a lot of climbing on uneven rocks and I didn't even go the whole way because I was dead tired.I plan to go back and to prepare, as in bring a water bottle and not carry a purse! We were there until about 7. We had to wait for the bus, so we got some ice cream. Joe's ice cream is around everywhere, so I had to try it and it was indeed delicious. We then went to a pub because it started to rain and got some chips. It was an excellent day and I was exhausted.

Sunday, we had two lacrosse games in Cardiff, which is about an hour away. This was my first little British car experience. I don't consider taking a taxi home after a few drinks to be an experience. So we packed in 5 people per car and it was rather scary driving on the other side of the road. I felt like I was in a toy car. I had to referee a game when I got there, whichwas cool, my first expreience. Although they don't really call a lot of checking or warding or shooting space. Actually no shooting space at all. Basically, the whistle never blows. We played Reading first and it was close for awhile. But not for much longer. I had 2 goals!! Then we played Cardiff who had already beat Reading. It was a long day. 80 straight minutes of lacrosse. I was incredibly sore.
Monday I had classes and they were okay. Nothing exceptional. Eating behaviour is going to be my new favorite class. I amreally excited for it. The teacher is awesome. The other classes were kind of boring. The nice part is that they are only 1 hour long; nice and short. One teacher gave us a break in the middle.Tuesaday I did some exploring of the city centre and I did some shopping. I found a bakery that I love. It is called Reed's bakery and confectionary. It was very homey and delicious. I actually had a sandwich - shredded cheddar cheese and tomato. What makes the sandwich is the bread. It was amazing! Next time I wil try a baked good for sure. I've been doing alot of wandering around the city centre and going to all sorts of little shops. I'm finally getting my bearings of the downtown area and figuring out where everything is.
Today is one of our friends birthdays so we are going to have a potluck birthday party for her. And then we'll all go out after. It should be fun!
I plan on going to Mumbles soon to check out
the house and take some pictures!
